Advanced sewer research has pioneered scientific developments in corrosion, odour and sewer treatment processes resulting in major outputs such as SeweX software and Cloevis technology.
This research has led to multiple awards, over 50 peer-reviewed journal publications, including nature and science publications, two patents and more than $400 million documented cost savings to the Australian Water Industry.
We are now expanding to advanced integrated prediction of sewer capacity, anomaly detection, assessment of ventilation and greenhouse gas emissions, and fit for purpose instrumentation of sewer systems. Principles from sewer systems are being increasingly applied to improve resilience of water distribution networks, including source to customer equipment maintenance.
