The Australian Centre for Water and Environmental Biotechnology (ACWEB) is dedicated to the continuing education of water professionals. As an internationally recognised technology leader, ACWEB is also actively involved in domestic and industrial water recycling and wastewater projects.

ARB is a phylogenetic software package which uses large cumulative databases, allowing users to explore phylogenetic relationships, it has tools for probe/primer design and evaluation and incorporated some of the newest and most sophisticated algorithms for DNA and protein alignments. This course gives the participants the basics and theory behind the software to start using it in their workplaces.
Established over 40 years ago, IWES provides high quality short course training for environment and water professionals. Courses are taught by leading industry practitioners and designed to keep busy professionals abreast of the latest trends, technologies and practices.
The use of rRNA-targeted Fluorescence in situ Hybridisation (FISH) is now widely accepted as the least biased method for identifying and enumerating populations of microorganisms within a large variety of environmental samples.
