ACWEB has been a world leader in development of digital twins for wastewater infrastructure over the last 20 years, having led development of standardised International Water Association (IWA) models of anaerobic digestion, activated sludge, chemistry, plant-wide models, and commercial twins such as SeweX.
More recently, we were part of the IWA computational fluid dynamics task group and conduct world leading research into the use of computational fluid dynamics of multi-phase systems. We have extensive experience in development of machine learning models for more complex systems, across the urban water cycle, including development of model based short and long-term prediction, model predictive control, and infrastructure planning. This extends to use of sensor networks for system state detection and maintenance.
