The advanced wastewater treatment research works aim to develop technologies that will enable the next generation of wastewater treatment for full resource recovery, including water, carbon, nutrients, and bioenergy, at lower cost and greenhouse gas emission.
This includes novel technologies such as high rate activated sludge, anaerobic membrane bioreactors, and photobioreactors, partial nitritation/denitritation and anammox (PN/DA), membrane aerated biofilm reactor, membrane biofilm reactor, enhanced sludge digestion and electrochemical biogas upgrading technology.
