Sandra Hall says farewell to UQ after 20+ years

30 Sep 2023

After more than 25 years on campus Sandra Hall has hung up the UQ purple and moved into the not-for-profit sector.

Sandra first joined ACWEB (then Advanced Wastewater Management Centre) as a fresh-faced PhD candidate in 1998. After completing her PhD, she moved on to a Post Doctoral Research Fellow before moving into the education training space.

From education training director to marketing and communications, business development manager, to ACWEB general manager, Sandra played a crucial role in growing the Centre over the past 20+ years.

In addition to the numerous ACWEB roles, Sandra also held several secondments, including International Events Director for ISME, and Regional Executive Director for the CRC Water Sensitive Cities, as well as a position on the Board of Directors for the Australian Water Association.

Sandra was a dedicated mentor for many students and young professionals and has helped to shape significant changes in the industry, especially as a champion of diversity and inclusion.

ACWEB bids a bitter-sweet farewell to Sandra, as she will be sorely missed in the Centre, but her new position is an amazing opportunity, and we wish her all the best. Sandra has moved into the role of CEO for Water Stewardship Asia Pacific but retains an adjunct position with UQ.
