ACWEB nets two publications in Nature Communications

13 Oct 2023

Two papers from ACWEB post-doctoral research fellows have been published in Nature Communications 14.

The papers, from Dr Xueqin Zhang and Dr Zhetai Hu, were published in September and October 2023.

Dr Zhang’s paper Multi-heme cytochrome-mediated extracellular electron transfer by the anaerobic methanotroph ‘Candidatus Methanoperedens nitroreducens’ – published 30 September 2023 – provided experimental evidence supporting cytochrome-mediated EET for the reduction of metals and electrodes by ‘Candidatus Methanoperedens nitroreducens’.

Dr Hu’s paper Integrated urban water management by coupling iron salt production and application with biogas upgrading – published 12 October 2023 – investigated methods of using iron salts for sustainable water management solutions.

Zhetai’s research also won him the 2023 Australian Water Association QLD Student Water Prize.
