Nova holds a master's degree in Water Science from the University of Duisburg-Essen, Germany, that studied the microbial consortia during leaching of sulphide minerals. She obtained her B.S in Microbiology from Bandung Institute of Technology and completed the Environmental Science master program at Padjadjaran University. Prior to starting Ph.D, she worked for several years in biotech, chemical, and environmental services industries.
