UQ Fellowship for AWMC Adjunct Professor

Adjunct Professor Guillermo (Bill) Capati PSM was conferred a University Queensland (UQ) Fellowship by Chancellor Peter Varghese AO at a special ceremony held on 14 November 2020 in Brisbane.

The UQ Fellowship is an Honorary Award that recognises an individual's outstanding service or contribution to the University or has acted over a period of time to enhance the University's reputation, mission and objectives.

Since being appointed as an Adjunct Professor in 2008, Bill has made an essential contribution to the success of UQ's Advanced Water Management Centre and he has generously shared his specialist knowledge of water management practices with the University's researchers and students.

In 2013, Bill was awarded a Public Service Medal from the Governor-General of Australia for outstanding public service to the sustainable water future of the Gold Coast and broader South East Queensland region and in 2016 was the recipient of a Presidential Award from Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte. In 2017, Bill was named Engineers Australia Queensland Professional Engineer of the Year.

AWMC Director Professor Zhiguo Yuan AM congratulated Bill on his UQ Fellowship and for his visionary leadership of the water industry and his contribution to the success of the centre.
