Researcher biography

Cassandra George is a Research Scholar at the Australian Centre for Water and Environmental Biotechnology (ACWEB). With a background in Agricultural Science and experience in Life Cycle Assessment and carbon accounting for the pork industry, she focuses on reducing the environmental footprint of piggery effluent through the use of chemical additives in anaerobic treatment systems.

Her research explores how these additives can influence the underlying biological and chemical processes that drive emissions in effluent management. By evaluating treatment performance through both environmental and practical lenses, her work supports the development of cost-effective strategies for reducing greenhouse gas and odour emissions in intensive livestock production.
